For rides where you need an extra layer of protection without resorting to a jacket, the Hunt Fluoro Gilet designed in collaboration with Castelli has your back (and chest). With high visibility and a super light construction tipping the scales at a mere 81 grams, it is about the same weight as two gels but worth far more when the temperature drops as you turn to descend or set out from the front door. The rear mesh panel allows any excess heat to escape and makes it easier to be packed into your rear pocket when not in use.
