At Hunt Wheels we devote lots of time to testing out new wheels before we bring them to market. As riders ourselves we quite enjoy testing all the wheels and getting a feel for the way they ride, the handling characteristics and of course importantly the way they look when lent up against a café. Testing is important so we make sure that you can buy the very best products and so that we can provide you with the very best information on our products. Our 2016 wheelsets were launched at the Cycle Show last month however it was a long process leading up to that point. We have been extensively testing 2016 wheel samples since early spring in all conditions, ranging from the gritty potholed lanes of Sussex to the rough gravel tracks of the Pyrenees in France and everything in between as prototypes have been used to tour across Europe.

One model in particular that we have all been fighting over to ride has been the brand new 55 Carbon Aero Wide. This wheel set has been in use all year and has proven to be a top performer. In a recent trip to the French Alps Hunt owner Tom Marchment put the wheels through their paces on  the Les Lacets De Montvernier, including a fantastic descent featuring 18 hairpins in just 3.4km. Despite the incredibly hot weather and repeated heavy braking the brake performance remained consistent throughout the descent. Even when the rain arrived a few days later Tom was still out riding his Carbon wheels down the alpine mountains such was the quality of the braking.

Our 55 Carbon Aero Wide wheels are now available for pre order for January delivery.

This video shows Tom's descent of Les Lacets De Montvernier which was also used in this years Tour de France. He even managed to  reached number 5 in the Strava segment. Enjoy!
